AES-256
AES-256 provides the highest level of symmetric encryption with a 256-bit key and 14 rounds of processing. It meets the requirements for TOP SECRET classification by intelligence agencies and is used in government-grade NFC applications, electronic passports, and secure element implementations. The additional security margin comes at a slight performance cost compared to AES-128.
