High Frequency (HF)
HFHigh Frequency (HF) operates at 13.56 MHz and is the foundation of NFC technology. It offers read ranges from 1 cm to about 1 meter depending on the antenna, with data rates up to 424 kbps for NFC and higher for some proprietary protocols. HF is the dominant frequency for contactless payments, smart cards, library systems, and all NFC Forum-compliant applications.
