NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF)

NDEF (NFC Data Exchange Format) is the NFC Forum's standard message format for encoding application data on NFC tags and in peer-to-peer transfers. An NDEF message consists of one or more NDEF records, each containing a type, length, and payload. Standard record types include URI, Text, Smart Poster, MIME types, and handover records. NDEF ensures interoperability across all NFC devices and tag types, making it the universal data format for the NFC ecosystem.
